These terms apply when you use Paper Duel, an app developed by Joni Ruuskanen, operating under the name Backseat Games ("we", "us"). By downloading or using the app, you agree to these terms.

The app

Paper Duel is a two-player grid-paper game collection, designed to be played by two people on one device (hot-seat) or on two nearby devices connected directly over Bluetooth or local Wi-Fi. It does not require an account and does not require an internet connection to play.

License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use Paper Duel on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use, in accordance with these terms and the terms of the app store you downloaded it from.

Purchases

Paper Duel offers an optional one-time purchase to unlock every game in the collection. Once purchased, this unlock does not expire and is not time-limited. Purchases are billed and processed by Google Play or the Apple App Store, and are subject to their respective refund and billing policies, not ours.

Acceptable use

You agree not to reverse engineer, decompile, or tamper with the app except where such restriction is prohibited by law, and not to use the app in any way that could disable, overburden, or interfere with its intended operation.

Intellectual property

The app, including its design, artwork, code, and the Paper Duel name, is owned by Backseat Games. Nothing in these terms transfers any of that ownership to you.

No warranty

Paper Duel is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every device.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Backseat Games is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid for it, if any.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated terms. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date above.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Finland, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
